Jaguar Land Rover Cyberattack Disrupts Production

Britain's biggest carmaker, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), announced that factory production will remain suspended until October after a cyberattack. The automaker had to stop operations in late August when its IT networks were compromised, disrupting production and retail systems. According to the BBC , JLR confirmed that its UK factories will remain shut until at least October 1, and anonymous sources said the halt could extend into November. The companies involved in the production chain and the government are concerned about the economic consequences. "Our focus remains on supporting our customers, suppliers, colleagues, and our retailers who remain open," said JLR in a statement. "We fully recognise this is a difficult time for all connected with JLR and we thank everyone for their continued support and patience." Proton VPN Passes 4th Annual No-Logs Audit

Proton VPN just announced that it successfully passed its 4th consecutive independent audit of its no-logs policy. Carried out by Securitum, the audit involved a physical inspection of Proton VPN’s live server infrastructure in Zürich, Switzerland, confirming that it does not collect its users’ data in-line with its privacy policy. Securitum is one of Europe’s leading penetration testing companies, based out of Kraków, Poland. The company conducts over 300 security tests per year for companies around the world, and frequently calls out failed tests on its X account. Proton VPN’s latest external assessment was performed by Securitum consultants Martin Matyja and Maciej Szymczak. Occurring from August 18 to August 20, 2025, it consisted of technical interviews, supervised access to randomly chosen live servers, and a thorough review of server setups, data-flow design, logging settings, and admin procedures. Report Claims Cyberattack Leaked Crypto.com User Data

A recent Bloomberg report suggests that the cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com was attacked by the hacker group Scattered Spider in 2023, breaching users’ data, but the incident was not reported. The crypto platform’s CEO denied the accusations, calling the report "completely unfounded." Last Friday, Bloomberg published a piece featuring the story of Noah Urban, a member of the hacker group Scattered Spider, who was recently sentenced to 10 years in prison . Urban said that the group carried out a phishing campaign against Crypto.com and that he gained access to its internal system through an employee in 2023. The report also mentioned that Scattered Spider exploited a United Parcel Service Inc. system to gather users’ data. According to Bloomberg, the incident was not reported.
